The Princeton Review’s “Guide to 353 Green Colleges”

April 23, 2015 | DENTON, Texas – The University of North Texas was ranked 42 of 353 universities reviewed for sustainability in The Princeton Review’s 2015 edition of “Guide to 353 Green Colleges.” This is the fifth year UNT has been included in the guide.

UNT Sustainability Presents "To Divest or Not to Divest: Fossil Fuels and Your Investments"

April 17, 2015 | DENTON, Texas – The fervent and passionate student debate about divestment as the preferred strategy to treat global climate change indicates that the upcoming professional panel discussion is needed to continue the discussion.

Members of the nationally ranked UNT Debate Team squared off in a standing-room-only room of the Gateway Center April 16 with people listening in a line out the door, said Carla Collette, UNT Sustainability outreach coordinator.

“We obviously hit a nerve – a topic of great interest and intense emotions,” said Brian Lain, Ph.D., UNT associate professor and director of UNT Debate, who moderated the student event.


April 17, 2015 | DENTON, Texas – More than 20 exhibitors are aligned to support UNT Sustainability’s focus on Earth Week, April 21-27, as the university continues its work to further economic, environmental and social sustainability.

NRG Energy, Inc., based in Princeton, N.J., and Houston, joins as a new participant this year along with other sustainability-conscious companies. NRG, always striving to make a difference in communities and in the environment works at developing and executing innovative solutions that protect the planet and connect people to needed resources. Other sustainers participating in Earth Week this year include local vendors and governmental agencies.
