UNT Sustainability's Operations Team works to improve institutional effectiveness, promote cohesion across campus, help UNT reduce waste and carbon emissions, and encourage sustainable behavior amongst students, faculty, and staff. We conduct feasibility studies, improve data collection & analysis, seek external funding, develop metrics to evaluate overall efficiency & effectiveness, and build meaningful partnerships on and off campus.

UNT is a member of the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). We work to fulfill specific requirements of these organizations, including conducting an annual Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory (GHG), and updating and implementing the UNT Framework for Responsible Growth (FrG). We also collect data for the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS) and facilitates any We Mean Green Fund projects on campus.
